CELLAR beast Josef Fritzl shifted 197 tons of earth BY HAND while building his dungeon, cops revealed yesterday.
The scheming incest dad, 73, smuggled out the equivalent of 17 lorry loads and fitted and plumbed several rooms without neighbours, tenants or planners realising.
A police source said: “Fritzl did it all. It’s phenomenal by anyone’s standards.”
Cops with dogs trained to find human remains yesterday began scouring earth from the excavated rooms in Amstetten, Austria, where Fritzl imprisoned daughter Elisabeth for 24 years. He says he incinerated their seventh and last child underground when he died at three days.
Among items removed from the dungeon yesterday were dried food packets, empty Skol lager cans and a Lidl bag. Meanwhile, cops have reopened the case of 1966 murder victim Anna Neumayr, 17, to see if Fritzl is linked.
