Shia LaBeouf has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after an early morning crash in which the “Indiana Jones” star injured his hand and knee, police said. LaBeouf was trying to make a left turn at an intersection in West Hollywood around 3am when his pick-up collided with another vehicle, rolling the truck over, said Sgt Scott Wolf, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff.

“It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest,” Sgt Wolf said.

The 22-year-old actor was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and was being treated for injuries to his left hand and a knee, as well as a minor head injury, Sgt Wolf said.

A woman passenger in LaBeouf’s truck and the driver of the other vehicle - whose identities have not been released - were not seriously injured.

Melissa Kates, a publicist for the actor, said LaBeouf underwent hand surgery and plans to return to work within a month, but made no further comment…
