Afghanistan: ISAF soldier killed in bomb blast

KABUL, Aug 17 (AFP): A NATO-led soldier was killed in a bomb blast in eastern Afghanistan Saturday, the alliance’s International Security Assistance Force said. “An ISAF soldier died August 16 after an IED (improvised explosive device) strike in eastern Afghanistan,” it said in a statement that gave no other details. Most of the international soldiers in eastern Afghanistan are US nationals. The latest death took the number of international troops killed in Afghanistan this month to 20, at least half of them Americans.
