Afghanistan: Body of kidnapped Japanese aid worker found - Video
Police on Wednesday found the bullet-riddled body of a Japanese aid worker kidnapped the day before in eastern Afghanistan, a district governor said. “We found the abducted Japanese man minutes ago. He has been shot several times,” Kuz Kunar’s district governor told AFP. Kazuya Ito, 31, was kidnapped in the district on Tuesday as he headed to carry out his daily inspection of an irrigation project, officials said.
Taliban insurgents deny any connection with the kidnap and death of a Japanese aid worker in Afghanistan.
Japan does not have troops in Afghanistan, but its navy runs a maritime refuelling operation in support of U.S.-led military operations in the country.
