Highway deaths in bushfire flames

Dec. 31 - Australians have been killed as they attempted to drive along a highway in a national park while a bushfire burned intensely.

Three people were killed in along a stretch of the Great Eastern Highway in Western Australia.

The inferno has destroyed 7,500 hectares of bushland and downed power lines in the area.
